Polynesian Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 10 Wholesome Farms Direct Source-Verified 5 oz. packs frozen chicken wings
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth or water
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green sweet pepper
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • Thinly sliced green onions as garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Line a large baking pan with foil.
  3. Place frozen chicken wings in baking pan.
  4. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until crispy.
  5. Meanwhile, mix brown sugar, flour, ginger, and crushed red pepper in a small saucepan.
  6. Add pineapple juice, broth, sweet pepper, and soy sauce.
  7. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly over medium heat.
  8. Cook and stir for 2 more minutes.
  9. Set aside.
  10. When ready, drain off juices from baking pan.
  11. Brush chicken wings with some of the glaze mixture.
  12. Bake for 10 more minutes.
  13. Brush with more of  the glaze mixture.
  14. Serve garnished with green onions.
