Indian Ground Lamb Curry

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 lb. Wholesome Farms Direct Source-Verified Ground Lamb
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2 potatoes, chopped
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch fresh ginger, minced
  • 1-2 Serrano peppers
  • 4 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp meat masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 cup organic tomato sauce
  • optional: cilantro for garnish

Directions

  1. Melt ghee in a sauté pan over medium heat.
  2. Sauté onions until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger, garlic and serrano pepper.
  4. Stir-fry for a minute.
  5. Add tomatoes.
  6. Cover pan for 5 minutes.
  7. Add spices.
  8. Stir-fry for one minute.
  9. Add the ground lamb and cook until fully browned.
  10. Add meat mixture to slow cooker.
  11. Add the peas, carrots, potatoes and tomato sauce.
  12. Cook on low for 4-5 hours.
  13. Garnish with cilantro if desired.
