Grilled Spice-Rubbed Rib Eye Steak

  • 4 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp coarse black pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp white pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 5 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 6 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh tarragon
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh thyme
  • Olive oil, as needed

  1. Except for the oil, combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Stir the mixture. As you stir, add olive till the mixture has a medium consistency, not too thick and not too thin.
  3. Submerge the steaks in mixture, rubbing it into the surface of the steaks.
  4. Marinate steaks in mixture for approximately 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat grill to 425 to 450 degrees F.
  6. Place steaks on grill. Flip the steak halfway through cooking time. To cook a 16-ounce steak to preferred doneness, cook for: rare, 2 to 3 minutes on each side, medium-rare, 4 to 5 minutes on each side and medium, 6 to 7 minutes on each side.
